Tea Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Optional: Add 1tsp. of milk for softness

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs.
  3. Blend baking powder, soda, flour and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  4. Stir into creamed mixture.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Roll onto floured board.
  7. Cut with glass or cookie cutter.
  8. Bake at approximately 300° until golden brown on ungreased cookie sheet.
